On Sunday 15 March 2020 from 09:00, BLS will be demonstrating the varied and exciting engineering activities involved in tunnel construction.
The 35-kilometer long Lötschberg base tunnel is the heart of the BLS infrastructure. It is one of the safest, most modern and technically most complex railroad tunnels in the world. Together with the Gotthard Base Tunnel and the Monte Ceneri Base Tunnel, it is part of the NRLA, the new transalpine rail link.
On Engineers' Day, you will have the opportunity to see the structure from the inside. Learn more about the art of engineering at BLS and about the Lötschberg Base Tunnel Extension project. Participants benefit from free travel to and from Berne. BLS AG will offer you a lunch.
